The Benefits of Meditation
Meditation has always been hard for me because I talk fast, think fast and am a multi-tasker. But after much brow-beating, I finally got myself to sit down and meditate. But no sooner was I sitting still than I realized just how busy my mind really was. My thoughts raced from one thing to another — it seems so difficult to focus. And before I knew it, I’d given up. My journey ended before it had even begun. Taking control of what’s going on between your ears has to be one of the most challenging, and yet ultimately rewarding things you will ever learn to do in your life! Even if you just focus on your breath, let your mind wander and go back to focusing on your breath, you will reap great rewards meditating. Much intuition comes from concentration/meditation.
Weight Loss Meditation
Find a space / room that you feel comfortable in and sit with your feet flat on the ground and back upright and the palms of your hands resting on your lap turned upwards.
Close you eyes and take a slow, deep breath. Breathe all the way in, counting to 10 and out again counting to 10. Be sure to breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Feel your feet touching the ground (doesn’t matter if you are 10 floors up), wriggle your toes and put your attention into how it feels to connect with the ground beneath you. “Dear Mother Earth! Thank you for your grounding life force.”
With your eyes closed and you breathing deep and slow, start to visualize a speck of light in the center of your body at your solar plexus. (That place at the bottom of your rib cage where your ribs meet.)
As you observe this speck of golden healing light take a nice deep breath all the way in. As you slowly start to breathe out see that this speck of golden light doubles in size.
As the speck of golden healing light doubles in size and becomes a small ball, imagine it cleansing your body of all unwanted negativity and excess weight.
Again take a slow, deep, breath. Breathing all the way in, counting to 10 and watch the ball of healing light energy double in size again as you breathe out. Imagine your body repairing itself and becoming thin and healthy. Feel it clearing away energy that no longer serves your highest good, moving it out of your space all the way down to a cellular level.
As the healing energy continues to clear and fill your space notice that you start to feel lighter and that any tension in your body simply melts away.
Nice deep long breaths all the way in and all the way out… No where to go, nothing to do, simply be present in this moment accepting your healing and releasing all energy that doesn’t serve your highest good.
Continue taking long deep breaths in and out. Give yourself permission to be in this space for the next five minutes. Imagine the life you want and visualize the details. What career do you have, what size are you, who are you with, what house do you live in?
As you continue your meditation see that the golden healing energy coming from the center of self starts to fill up the space around you, your aura… Again clearing, cleansing, and healing the space around you. See this beautiful golden healing energy shining from the center of your body, moving out all your stresses, strains, pain, and discomfort from the day, bringing healing to every cell in your body.
Feeling refreshed, clear, and centered in the present moment, take one last deep breath…. all the way in and slowly all the way out and when you are ready open your eyes…
